Description
The entire set consists of four movements. The first movement is made of tone rows, and notes are organized fragmentally with wide leaps of range, similar in style to Webern or Babbitt. In the second movement the mood shifts to become more quiet and dreamy although retaining some themes composed through tone rows. In the third movement the fast-splashing motives are used in a logical way. The last movement consists of themes derived from the previous movements. The theme from the first movement recurs at the end of the fourth movement for bringing the whole work to a close.
