Description
The first movement is entitled “Cloud.” In the opening of the movement, the flute and the oboe bring out the beautiful melody whereas the clarinet sustains the melody by playing an ostinato pattern. After the climax, the melody returns. The main theme of the movement depicts the gentle movement of a cloud in the blue sky. The second movement is entitled “Mountain.” The angular pattern occurring at the opening of the movement is brought out by the bassoon. Then, the horn and clarinet bring out the main theme. The third movement is entitled “Wave.” The clarinet brings out the fast thirty second notes in a wavy fashion depicts wave flowing on the surface of sea. The last movement is entitled “The Earth.” In this movement, we can hear all the ideas of the previous movements generated together creating a beautiful conclusion.
